It was the summer of 2014 and I had been hired as a market intelligence intern at Cisco. I was tasked with exploring open sources (social media/free analytics sites) for competitive intelligence opportunities. It was a very open-ended project, left up to me to determine the scope. I began by researching almost 100 websites and narrowed them down to about 15 recommended tools that could be checked periodically to monitor competitor activity. I also volunteered with Cisco’s community relations team to plan and launch a Back2School drive campaign. Here is a flyer I created targeting Cisco’s marketing department for donations.
